Alcohol Advisory Service

Worried or concerned about anything to do with alcohol?

This can be your alcohol use or someone else’s, including someone in your family, brothers or sisters or friends. If children and young people are drinking alcohol, we want them to do so as safely as possible. The Alcohol Advisory Service is there to support young people and their families. We are not here to judge but to look at ways of making things better and safer. This confidential service will only share information if you tell us we can or if there are harm concerns for you or someone else.

What does the Service do?

  • We offer a confidential service within Portsmouth City for ALL children and young people and their families, up to the age of 19 years old.
  • Confidential ‘drop-ins’ in Secondary schools across the city. At these ‘drop-ins’ we can see young people on their own or in small groups.
  • We also see young people in various other locations across the City including health centres, any place where there are other young peoples services (for example the Ella Gordon unit). We can also see young people at home. So you can choose where it is best for you to be seen.
