Sorted Weight referral

• 55% report they have never been drunk
• 68% reported that they had had an alcoholic drink – a whole drink, not just a sip. This in an increase from 50% in the last TellUs Survey
• 9% have been drunk three or more times in the last 4 weeks
• Females were drunk more often than males (57 females drunk 3 times or more in last 4 weeks compared to 47 males)
• Alcohol is the most used substance with 20 responses reporting drinking alcohol daily and 29% drinking alcohol on a monthly basis
• The main reason for drinking alcohol is “It’s normal, everyone does it”
• 29% report that parents provide alcohol and this is the main way alcohol is obtained
• Cannabis is the most used drug with 4% stating they have tried it once, and 2.8% stating daily use
• 82% of daily cannabis use was reported by males
• 94% have never tried legal highs/digital drugs with 2.8% trying them once and 1.7% using daily
• Solvents are the third most used drug with 2.3% having used solvents once, 1.6% using daily and 0.6% using weekly or monthly
• “Liking the way it makes me feel” was the main reason for trying drugs
• “My friends do it” was stated as the main reason for smoking tobacco
• 61% of responses agree there are safe places for them to go out and do activities
• Nearly 50% stated there is a good choice of activities and 46% that there are enough activities.
• There has been a decrease in the helpfulness of alcohol advice in schools from 53% to 47%
• There has also been a decrease in the helpfulness of drugs advice in schools from 58% to 49%
