- There is now a free Screening Programme dedicated to testing and treating under 25 year olds for Chlamydia.
How you get Chlamydia…
- By having vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who already has it
- Sharing sex toys
- Its possible that it can be transferred to the eyes
- A pregnant woman can pass the infection to her baby.
The test…
- Is a simple urine or self-taken swab test
- Any information you give will be kept in total confidence - and after the test
- You will be contacted confidentially by the method you choose - text, post or phone If you have Chlamydia
- You will be treated with a free course of antibiotics
- Your partner can also be treated to avoid re-infection
- You will receive help to contact any previous partners so that they can get a free test and treatment too.
